Dear Samuel,


I have finished read the book "Lord of the Nutcracker Men" by Ian Lawernce. I find the book really interesting as I thought this week's genre would be highly boring where you can see in my previous rjs I state that I fall asleep. The book is about a kid who plays war with an army of nutcrackers his father makes since he is a toy maker. While he plays in his imaginative world his dad gets drafted into WWI. I can tell it is WWI because of the year in the story which was 1914. I find the book to have its twist and turns in it. It has a lot of suspense where I wonder what is happening next. I also find that the more I read the more of the book I want to read. I wish it can be longer. One thing I found interesting was how when he plays with the toy nutcrackers in war he believes he has godlike powers that control his father's fate. I found it interesting be cause he can like make his father survive and win the war. I highly recommend the book because its interesting, not boring, and you like Call of Duty so you can relate to it.

Dear Person,

I have finished reading my autobiography from last week. A link of it can be found here http://luckybaydounrj2011-2012.blogspot.com/2012/01/rj-21.html. If you did not read my last rj, the name of it is My Remarkable Journey by Larry King. He has done many things in life. As I continued reading he stated that he has been arrested one time when he was younger. He also had many other talk show host jobs before his big debut on CNN.  Ever since I finished reading it, it appears to be that in the rest of the book its just little petty information. He has lived in many other places such as Miami and different parts of New York. Since he is an interviewer its obvious, that he has met many other celebrities. He has also been interviewed too, for many other reasons such as a biography not made by him or to be on a talk show. The book though did not mention his retiring from CNN. He also stated his education in the book. One of the schools he went to was Lafyette in New york. One of my favorite quotes from the book is "Memories are all we have. Lose them, and we have nothing. But memories touched by humor, those are the best of all." I also found his journey through life remarkable hence its name of the book. Like I said be fore in my last rj I would highly recommend this book to anyone since it is well written and an enjoyable read.

Dear Reader,

I am still currently reading Larry King: My Remarkable Journey. Ever since this week is auto-biography you already would know the author since it is stated in the title unless its a regular biography book. I found the way Larry King wrote in the book very appealing to me. It made me easily understand the book and not fall asleep. In the beginning of the book it starts like its a memoir but then it turns into an auto-biography. It starts off with Larry King stating that he had an exclusive interview with Osama Bin Laden. Right away I kept reading as it caught my attention. He has been married 8 times and has/had 7 wives (he remarried a wife). He has 6 kids including his stepson Danny Southwick. The other names of the kids were Larry Jr.,Cannon,Chance,Andy, and Chaia. In the book he has mentioned that he did not meet Larry Jr. until his son was somewhere in his thirties. In the book sometimes his point of view changes into someone else's  view about whats related to that topic or point view about Larry King himself. Larry has had a quintuple-bypass heart surgery when he had a heart attack in early 1987. His original name was Larry Zeiger which was his name when he immigrated here. My favorite part in the book would be the beginning as it showed that he was able to meet Osama Bin Laden when no one  could even receive a exclusive interview with him. My least favorite part would be when he had a quintuple-bypass surgery from a heart attack which was really sad since it was a really major heart attack then the others he had. I overall recommend this book even though I did not finish it as seems really interesting and it is not boring.

Dear Person ,

I am doing my rj on "Shooting the Moon" by Frances O'Roark Dowell. I did not like the book it made me fall asleep. However I had to read since I am in book club. Some of the characters are Jamie,Cindy,Jamie's dad, Jamie's brother (T.J), amd Pvt. Hollister.. The book mainy focuses on Jamie missing her brother. The reason why because her brother is in Vietnam during the war so this was back then. To keep in touch they sent each other letter. However the first letter that came from her brother wasn't a regular letter, it was film waiting to be developed. The book immediately starts with a boring card game then the book kept on going on a slow, tiring pace. The ending of the book was not even good since it was only 3 sentences. The ending was that T.J became M.I.A (missing in action). To me the ending should have been a bit better so it wont make me seem that I have read this boring book for book club with a terrible ending. It should have been why T.J was captured or T.J coming home after he served his time in the military. I rate this book for .5 stars out of 10 since it was boring, had a horrible ending, I didn't understand some of the plot line, I did not like the author's writing style, etc. I do not recommend this book as you will not like this book. Ever since the ending was horrible they should of made a sequel to it so we understand what is happening just like in The Giver. If they did make one  then it should be better than this book as I did not like it for the reasons I have stated above. Surely wish we, book club members chose a better book in my opinion however, others liked the book.

I am reading this book called "Star Wars The Old Republic: Deceived" by Paul S. Kemp. The book is confusing if you don't have a vast background of Star Wars. The characters are  based on way before the event of the republic and separatist. These are the original roots of who Star Wars began. Most things that you think are normal in the Star Wars stuff you might know about. Some of the things are lightsabers weren't made by the way you think. Most of the characters don't have correct naming and such. Jedi ans Siths were there though. I didn't understand this book even though it was recommended on amazon.com. I don't even know any of the characters or remember the blot because it was too confusing. I do know the era is around the Darth Bane time. Im abandoning this book as it makes no sense for me to comprehend. I do have a vast knowledge however this book did not make any sense. I'm not sure if you will be able to understand it but go know yourself out and read the book.

Dear Samuel,

I am reading the book "Star Wars Deceptions: special edition" by Jude Watson. This the only sci-fi book that I found in my house, however it was badly damaged so I downloaded the e-reader version of it. If you ever seen any star wars movies then you would get the idea of it. This book is based on episodes I-II. The characters in this book are literally the characters you expect in those star wars movies that I listed above. So Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padme, those funny droids (R2-D2 and C-3PO), Darth Maul, Emperor Palpetine (Darth Sideous), Qui-Gon Jin, Clone troopers,etc. Well you get the point. The plot seems to have twist and turns as it strays off and sometimes it talks about  the future (Darth Vader era). In those parts I find confusing. The plot mostly is based on Obi-Wan being framed for a Jedi murder which he didn't even do, Darth Maul was the one who actually killed the Jedi. Then the book splits up into a new part where Anakin becomes a teenager (episode II) in this part they mostly focus on it and don't stray off on the section. My favorite part in the book is when Darth Maul is killed because he is a sith. My least favorite part is when Anakin loses a hand fighting Count Dooku. If you want to read go ahead but I don't think you know anything about this certain edition of star wars.

Dear person,

As you know we are reading the book "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. If you have read my rj its all those characters and a few more added characters which don't have a name. After reading the book I realized that it took place during the future. It acts like how the British ruled the U.S. The time would be around the future. If you are in book club do not continue on reading unless you finished the book, this is a SPOILER ALERT! The beginning starts directly into action which will cause you to wonder because its boring and confusing at the beginning. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in my last rj, but if I didn't you will find out the to be released means to be killed via lethal injection. The ending is a twisting ending as it leaves the reader in questioning whether or not Jonas and Gabriel did die. It left me in wonder so I went to look it up on this magical thing that god created us, Google. It turns out they did not die as the book has a successor which is one of these books or both, "Messenger" or "Gathering Blue." I wonder why the release is death, because in book club we thought it meant to be shunned. During the process they strap you down and put a deadly needle to kill you, then throw away your body. Wait a minute I just realized something if release means to be in a new place then that new place is... Now i get it! Ever since I mentioned the ending let me tell you about it. Jonas and Gabe (Gabriel) find out what release means so they quickly fled the community to a new one but however they were starving and hungry so they went out and then the story cuts out. Ever since in my previous rj's I mentioned you were assigned a job. So I have to tell you the job Jonas received. He got the job of the receiver of memories which is the predecessor of the Giver. The job had to do with all the memories of each and one citizen. I would recommend the book to however wants a book with many twist not don't ask the question "Will you recomend it?" because I don't like being redundant. My favorite part would be when Jonas and Gabe escape. My least favorite part would be finding out what release means. Their you go hope enjoyed it, don't forget to comment below.

Dear Book club members,


As you know we are reading the book "The giver" currently at the time. My last rj was based on chapters 1-3. This one is based on chapters 1-10. The character so far are Jonas,Asher,The Giver,The elders,Fiona,Lily,the new child aka Gabriel, and Jonas' parents. The setting isn't in poverty. The appears to be a piece of land. The place where they live isn't a democracy like how it is here. They live in a dictator ship by the elders. They have to go by a set of rules. If you break a rule you get kicked out which is mean. They have sets of groups by age to tell what you can do. At the age 12 they stop tract of your birthday and you have to go to city hall to find your birthday. I would recommend the book but I must warn you that the beginning is boring.

Dear book club members,

As you know we are reading the book "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. I would say the book is a meh book. The book started out with a plane that did not look like any other aircraft they seen. It was a fighter plane with a pilot using misguided directions. Everyone had to go inside for protection. The setting appears during poverty. As they use bicycles to move around for transportation.  I find the beginning a bit boring as it’s not like a juicy steak. However the way I'm reading is going by a fast rate. But then again I'm on the first few chapters so I really don't know the outcome of the book. To anyone else reading this, I don't know whether or not to recommend it since I'm only on the 5 chapter. I really don't know the characters since they barely say them. The only one I know is Asher they really don't tell anything about him.

Dear people who like classic books,


I recently read this book called "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by Mark Twain. The book is really good, I chose the book because its an all time classic, I could't resist plus it was on my ereader. They are two types of "The Adventures of..." that are made by Mark Twain that I found on my ereader. The other one is "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." Judging the books by its covers I predict they look like someone else is telling there story at the same place. I found the Tom Sawyer one very interesting. Its time scenario would be around the 30's. Some parts when the characters were talking I really couldn't understand what they were saying from the slang. Like "I'm gonna lick you" or "My name is Tom that's how they lick me by." I find these the most weirdest things in a book. The main characters that in my opinion are the true main characters in the book are Tom the person who is telling the story, the narrator another person who is telling the story, Injun Joe a guy who is Tom's antagonist, they fight a lot, and his family. The book mainly focuses on Tom's adventures throughout his life. My favorite part is when they fight, Tom and Injun Joe fight (or Sid (a minor character) and Tom fight). I chose this because I love boxing (GO MANNY "PACMAN" PACQUIAO!). My least favorite part is when Sid throws a stone at Tom as he cowardly flees away. I chose that because Sid is a coward who wants to bring up more trouble. I would recommend this book to anyone, 5 out of 5 stars. If you want to play the video game of this book search it up on youtube or if you want to see a movie of it I advise to look at the older movies of this one not the cartoon version. Trust me this book had a video game and several movies made after it.

Dear Alexander,


I recently abandoned memoir "Lost in Shangri-la" by Mitchel Zurkoff. This time I actually read a lot from this book. I read up to 125 pages without skipping stuff. If you read my 1st rj you will see that I would recommend it, I still would but the book is too detailed that it makes the book boring to me in my own opinion. I'm not telling you to avoid the book I'm just neutral toward recommending it. The book focuses on a vacation during the war until bad things start to happen. Like the planes crashes with all the soldiers in them and then having to be a medic to support each other. I abandoned it for another reason is that the book got too long from being too heavily detailed to the death. I really couldn't keep count of the characters because they keep constantly adding up from the plane crashes which some survived. The date of time I would have to say is around the ending of WWII toward a little less than the middle of the Cold war as I see some signs of each. My least favorite part of the book is when they fool around with the rifles. Just to let other people know, a rifle is a gun. Some people would call it a "big gun" but that's not the write term since a shot gun is a"big gun" which is entirely different from it. I chose this part because the could get seriously injured from playing around with it. Either from the bayonet which a long mounted knife or accidentally pulling the trigger. I also chose this because in our workbook we had a thing about gun safety and gun laws. My favorite part would be when they help one another when the planes crashed by forging or scavenging for food,medial supplies,toilet paper, and water. I chose this because if someone is hurt or in need of help they helped. They started by helping the weakest or in a fragile state and let the strongest or "meh" ones help them. At least they are risking their lives to help a teammate. Overall your choice to get the book. I'm not telling you to be "Yes, get the book" or "No don't get the book" its your decision. My rating would be a 5 out of 10 since its a book what I would like to call "meh." (If you liked this, comment below and do the captcha to post comment)

Dear my fellow classmate,

I recently read this book called "Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul" by the following authors Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Patty Hansen, and Irene Dunlap. I actually think these aren't the authors, its the people who send the letters are the authors in my own opinion. These are like the ones Mrs.Klink read to us last year. The version of this book I read was the 101 stories changes, choices, and growing up for kids 9-13. There are many stories in here one that I like is this story. "Run With It." The main characters in this story are Susan and her mom, Brian, and Jeff and his parents. Susan is a Tomboy who was best friends with Brian and then later befriended Jeff. Brian is one of Susan's best friend with terrible hand writing who also be friends Jeff. Jeff is a boy who has leukemia, which the teacher (mentioned only once so she is minor) said he cant always be with everyone in school. Susan's mom and Jeff's parents are like the messengers who tell which is which is happening to Jeff and then pass it on. The story is about Jeff and who comes to the 4ᵗʰ grade and the teacher announces about him. Susan and Brian who learn about Jeff from the teacher immediately befriend him. They play along and act like nothing is wrong. Then later he got his treatments and the cancer went away, but then came back. This is where all the bad things start to happen. Jeff's parents tell Susan's mom that Jeff has to get a bone marrow treatment and go to California. So they were like ok were cool with that. So Jeff and his parent go there. Later then Susan goes to a Skating party and can't find Brian. So she went home to ask whats wrong. Her mom said and I quote "Jeff's mom called..." (that's what it says in the book) If you guessed right, yes Jeff Died. Sad right? It appears Brian already has heard the news about him (in my opinion). Everyone is sad about it and guess what they can't afford Jeff's expenses. So they (Brain and Susan) started a running (a race) to support him or other people with that type of cancer by calling many companies and such and raised over ten grand. So they donate the money to the Leukemia Society under his name. Later then the mention there was a cross country biking marathon. Susan wanted enter but people called her crazy while others said and I quote "You're alive, you're here-so run with it!" So there you go that's my favorite story in this memoir. Overall Its a decent book and I would recommend it to anyone. 5 out of 5 stars for it. Hope you enjoyed my rj!

I didn't dislike anything in this article. The author wrote it well and was not biased like the last article.

Anyone who has is a veteran or knows a veteran. I say this because this looks like it was written for Veterans day.

I recently abandoned this short story I found on the computer called "Call of Duty" by Desmond Kelly, I thought it would be highly similar to the famously known video game series Call of Duty that recently released a new guy in the series Modern Warfare 3. With the suspense, mindblowing experiences, and showing somethings of war. This short story is not what you will expect. It is similar to Call of Duty, but its highly boring. It takes place during WWI like the older ones ( Call of Duty classic,  Call of Duty 2, etc.) I do not recommend this short story. It doesn't have key plots similar to Call of Duty. This short story has several variations by different authors . Whatever you do avoid it at all cost! I only read a couple paragraphs of it until I put it down. The story even shouldn't even be named Call of Duty. This is the worst short story "evar." The author also made several spelling errors in this short story. It's also one of those what I like to call "sleep you to death books/stories" meaning you can fall asleep reading it. I can't even keep tract with the characters.  Surely wish I picked a better one.  This story doesn't even make me feel traveling vicariously to where WWI happened. Call of duty games make me feel like I'm in the person I'm controlling shoes (the Wii version actually does that since its made to control it to simulate  anything). Like I said before if you want a nap time story here's a story. I have nothing good to talk about to talk about this "thing"

I finished reading "A Nancy Drew & Hardy Boys Super Mystery Hollywood Horror" by Carolyn Keene. Its a pretty decent book, plus it combines 3 famous mystery busters in one book. The book gets a little boring when they are discussing about their daily life like "Why did you not bring dinner?" or they discuss about their relation ships. Ever since the title is Hollywood Horrow it is exactly what you think if you understood it or read the book. The book is related to how John Lennon died due to a crazy stalker fan, but their are no deaths in this book. Their is two stories toward the book.  One is a deadly stalker is targeting a television star Marla Devereaux from the taping of the show Sunny-Side Up. Nancy drew takes in this part of the story. While in the studios the Hardy Boys eavesdrop to locate a person of the deadly special effects which could really harm someone. My favorite thing about the book is how they combine to great detectives in one book. The downside is that the book wasn't balanced out it was mostly about Nancy drew's case. I would recommend it if you would like to read it or you just want a good mystery book.

What I liked about this article was how it was about Android and Apple which are to me in my opinion the best PMPs and computers.
What I did not like about it was how the author was on Steve's side about this "tech war" and how Jobs was like "I want Android gone and killed even if I have to start WWIII."
Who should read this article and why:
Engadget; because they are all in the "tech scene" and know  about the "Android vs. Ios" debate/war
Android developers; because they know Android and how it works. Plus I know that it was created in 2006 but only mobile platform developers had a prototype of Android.
Maybe "fanboys" of each side if they are biased against one side and another, but this could make them start raging about Google,Apple,and maybe RIM (BlackBerry) if a RIM "troll" comes in and say they are better which I disagree with RIM.

Dear Whoever is reading this,

I recently reread "The Hardy Boys Case Files Dead on target". This is an awesome mystery book. Its mostly about Joe and Frank trying to get revenge on a terrorist, Al-Rousasa who is linked to "The Network" a terrorist group. When they park there car they needed to grab something. So Joe's girlfriend, Iola went to go get the stuff and she gets blown to bits by a car bomb that was meant for the Hardy Boys. This version of the Hardy Boys is different from others because they killed off a character. In the end of the book Al-Rousasa commits suicide after fighting the Hardy Boys. But, later in the Case File series he gets resurrected from the dead. That's quite odd who that happened. The terrorist didn't use a bomb to commit suicide but took a 3 story fall. His last quote was "Nobody takes an assassin alive" the book should of used that quote if he was a suicide bomber since it will fit better then jumping to your death. I recommend this book to anyone who likes The Hardy Boys series. The original or old ones are better than the newer ones. So that's it hope whoever you are enjoyed. Comment, fav, subscribe wait...
